hello, librarians!
Rock and roll! Thank you for joining this group. I want to apologize for being a bad group host, you see I have never done this before. I just saw that Vox started groups and thought it was IMPERATIVE that Vox librarians have a group ASAP. So, here it is.
I figure this would be a good place to share insightful commentary/humorous anecdotes/assorted tomfoolery as it relates to libraries and the library profession. Anyone is welcome to join. Please let me know if you would like to be added as co-host, or if you have an appropriate profile picture for us to put on display to the world.
As for me, I am a public librarian in a largish urban system. I like reference a lot. Total reference nerd. I like to teach computer classes and I like to answer the tough questions. I know the DDC and I know how to rock Google like nobody's business.
In Vox I mostly write about stuff I've eaten.
Nice to meet you all.

I'm not an MLS or LIS but I've been working at a public 'brary for 15 years. I now do staff orientation and training but at one time or another I've worked in all the departments except cataloging. I agree with you: reference rocks! As for teaching computer classes, my hat is off to you. I've done that too, and it is "never a dull moment."
After I read your last food entry I HAD to put you in my 'hood.
Thanks again,
SBaM
